Common questions

Are documents stored after analysis?
No. All documents you upload are permanently deleted within 24 hours. We store only the anonymous fraud signal — verdict and flags — never the document itself or any tenant PII.
Is this a consumer report under FCRA?
No. RentGuard authenticates documents, not people. We analyze whether a document is real — not whether an applicant is a good tenant. Our outputs are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Does this comply with Fair Housing?
Yes. RentGuard never scores, ranks, or evaluates applicants as individuals. We verify documents. The same document authentication is applied to every applicant equally.
What states are supported?
All 50 US states for document authentication. Eviction notice and legal document generation currently covers California, Texas, Florida, New York, Georgia, Illinois, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania — additional states added regularly.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime from the billing portal — click "Manage billing" on your account page. You keep access through the end of your billing period.
What counts as a "document screen"?
One upload session counts as one screen — whether you upload 1 document (free tier) or 5 documents as an applicant packet (Standard). Batch packets are analyzed as a unit with one cross-document verdict.
