Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
RentGuard is a rental fraud detection service operated by Geddes Ventures LLC ("we," "us," "our"). Our service is accessible at rentguard.io.
2. What information we collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and billing information (processed by Stripe — we never see your full card number).
Documents you upload: When you upload applicant documents for analysis, we transmit them to our AI processing infrastructure for fraud detection. We do not store documents on our servers. Documents are processed subject to our third-party AI provider's data retention policies. Contact support@rentguard.io if you have specific data retention requirements.
Fraud signals: After analysis, we store anonymous fraud signals — document type, flag category, confidence score, and state — with no personally identifiable information attached. These signals are used to improve detection accuracy over time.
Usage data: We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited to maintain and improve the service.
3. What we do not collect or store
We do not store tenant PII — names, Social Security Numbers, bank account numbers, addresses, or any other personally identifiable information from documents you upload. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not run advertising.
4. How we use your information
We use your email to send service-related communications (receipts, security alerts). We use anonymous fraud signals to improve detection accuracy. We use billing information to process payments through Stripe.
5. Document processing and third parties
Documents you upload are processed by RentGuard's proprietary fraud detection system, which uses AI analysis infrastructure to evaluate document authenticity. We do not share documents with any other third parties. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. subject to their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
6. Data retention
Uploaded documents: deleted within 24 hours. Account information: retained while your account is active and for 90 days after deletion. Anonymous fraud signals: retained indefinitely in aggregated, non-identifiable form. Billing records: retained as required by law (7 years).
7. Your rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@rentguard.io. California residents have additional rights under CCPA including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to deletion.
8. Security
We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. We do not store payment card information. Document data is never written to persistent storage — it exists only in memory during analysis.
